There is an incredible park for kids in a quaint little town called Wellington, Ontario. It is located exactly 14 minutes from our country house, and sits right next to Lake Ontario. There is the best bakery in all of Prince Edward County in this town, which serves incredible baked goods and a strong cup of coffee. There have been countless visits to this park over the years, which has always provided me with a moment of silence and a sense of comfort.
But the star of these outings is the drive to and from the park, when the kids are quiet and the music is playing. There is this gorgeous stretch of country road that runs along a body of water called West Lake. This lake is one of my favourites in the world. Even from the car, I can see the sun dancing on the water and the sand dunes in the distance. There are a few old trees between the road and the lake, which only add to the beauty and make for a gorgeous composition. Even though this stretch and view only last but a minute, it has become something I look forward to seeing each and every time to head to Wellington.
