Summer Lane was inspired by my many bike rides and walks along the road that our country home is on. It is long and fairly quiet, and surrounded by fields and forests. Wildflowers scatter the sides of the road and there is a old stone farmhouse perched on a hill.

But the part that I love the most is the trees. The big, old, trees that scatter the side of the road and lead my eye towards the rolling fields. Somehow they seem more inspiring than city trees. As if they are calmer, wiser. I think there is a lot of value in an old country tree, if only we slow down to truly notice.
